  • The study investigated the interconnections between education, ethics, and culture in Nigeria,surveying 750 academic staff from universities in the South East region. The populationconsisted of 79,152 academic staff in universities in the South East region of Nigeria. A simplerandom sampling technique was used to select the sample. The findings revealed a significantimpact of cultural backgrounds and educators' ethical values on students' understanding andapplication of ethical principles. The study underscores the urgent need for educators torecognize and address cultural biases and assumptions, fostering inclusive learningenvironments that promote critical thinking, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. Furthermore, thestudy highlights the importance of incorporating indigenous perspectives and values into thecurriculum, promoting culturally responsive teaching practices, and providing opportunities forstudents to engage with diverse cultural experiences. Ultimately, revitalizing Nigeria'seducation system requires a multifaceted approach that involves ongoing professionaldevelopment, curriculum reform, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Byworking together, educators, policymakers, and community leaders can create a more inclusiveand effective education system that prepares students for success in an increasingly complexand interconnected world.
