Influencia de la interpretación de imágenes de biología en la calidad del desarrollo del pensamiento crítico

    En este siglo 21 es necesario que el individuo se adapte rápidamente a los cambios que ocurren en su entorno y tenga una mayor comprensión de los fenómenos naturales. Es por esto que uno de los procesos cognitivos más importantes en este siglo es el pensamiento crítico, el cual se debe impartir en asignaturas claves donde el estudiante pueda discernir sobre la información que recibe, y una de estas materias es la biología. Para el desarrollo de este pensamiento es necesario la inclusión de nuevas herramientas que faciliten el entendimiento de los temas a tratar en clase, entre estas el uso de imágenes. Es por esto, que este estudio presenta el impacto que genera el uso de material visual en el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico en materias como la biología mediante un ensayo en un curso de colegio, mostrando que el uso de material visual mejora significativamente la capacidad de retención y análisis de problemáticas.

    In this 21st century, it is necessary for the individual to quickly adapt to the changes that occur in their environment and have a better understanding of natural phenomena. Therefore, one of the most important cognitive processes in this century is critical thinking, which must be taught in key subjects where the student can discern the information they receive, and one of these subjects is biology. For the development of this method, it is necessary to include new tools that help in the understanding of the topics to be discussed in class, including the use of images. For this reason, this study presents the impact generated by the use of visual material in the development of critical thinking in subjects such as biology through an experiment in a school course, showing that the use of visual material significantly improves retention capacity and problem analysis.
