The endometrial cancer is the more frequent ginaecological neoplasia in our enviroment. That is the reason why is important to find image methods suitable for an early diagnosis and a pre-surgery staging. Our objective is to evaluate the usefulness of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan for that staging. For that purpose we studied a total of 56 patients of ages between 40 and 84, with endometrial cancer, diagnosis by D&C or hysteroscopy, comparing the pre-surgery resulted from the pathological study after the surgery. We came to the conclusion that the results obtained in relation with sensitivity, specificity, VP+, VP- of the MRI scan, shows that this could be a good method for the pre-surgery staging of the endometrial carcinoma.
