The schist engraved plaques of the third millennium have been the subject of some recent studies. Two papers are in print, one about the "CTT plaques", and another about the representations of the "Goddess with Sun eyes". This one presents the arguments about the anthropomorphic meaning of the plaques, discussing the explicit and the implicit in the key motifs. All of them concerning a Goddess, sometimes in the later days presented with eyes with a solar shape.
The plaques presented here have never been published before in a scientific way and now they have been drawn directly from the originals by a team that studies the ancient peasant societies of central and southern Portugal and their relationships with the West of the Iberian Peninsula.
