  • Some place-names of the Roman province of Lusitania known from Greek or Latin literary sources or from Roman inscriptions have not yet been identified. Catraleucus, Turres Albae, Caepiana, Insula Antunane, Omnia, Supelegio, Lennium or Balatocelum are some of such place-names. Suggestions are presented here for the location of such sites using, in some cases, archaeological evidence or medieval and modern place-names. It is hoped that proposed locations will launch the discussion among linguists and archaeologists.
