Se analiza la evolución global del tráfico de mercancías de los principales puertos de España durante los últimos años. Se comprueba el incremento general del transporte marítimo, a pesar de la fuerte competencia de otros modos de transporte. Igualmente se advierte que el comportamiento de los puertos ha sido muy dispar. Se ha creado una nueva jerarquía portuaria. En ese sentido, cabe afirmar que, por ahora, no existe una centralización acentuada. Ningún puerto sobresale con claridad sobre los demás También han sido notables los cambios registrados en la especialización del tráfico de mercancías. Así mismo se han registrado fuertes cambios en el funcionamiento global del sistema portuario.

The global evolution of the traffic of goods of the main seaports of Spain during the last years is analyzed.
