  • The framework programmes are European Union multi-annual initiatives to promote and support R+D in Europe. The VI Framework Programme is being carried out between 2002-2006 and has been conceived as an tool for the creation of the European Research Area, which means, with respect lo previous framework programmes, that this one covers both short-term and long-term research with some very ambitious objectives.
