  • From "Sébillet's arspoetica" to Peletier du Mans', through Du Bellay's "Def- fence", the understanding of the nature of translation changes drastically, mainly through the emergence of a conceptualisation of a text's individua- tion — a fact of language, or a fact of discourse? The issue of translation has been defined by this conceptual shift since then.
