The authors make the transposition of a semiotic theory of poem, consisting of the traditional semiotic levels, to the theory of the plastic text, in such a way that the absolute homology between all the processes of artistic communication like the plastic ones and the literary ones in proved, distinguishing the level of literarity as conventionalized pragmatic option and the level of poeticality as value based on the effects of the imaginary activity and communication. The authors examine examples of the Spanish modern painting.
