Análisis sobre la forma en que la historiografía de los siglos XVI, XVII, XVIII y XIX se acercó a la invasión musulmana del 711 y al inicio de la resistencia cristiana en la batalla de Covadonga con el fin de establecer el momento en el que comenzó a emplearse el término «reconquista» y los primeros significados que se le dieron a dicho término.

An analysis of the way that the historiography of the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries studied the Muslim conquest (711 A.D.) and the beginning of the Christian resistance in the battle of Covadonga in an attempt to establish when the word «reconquest» was utilized for the first time and all of the meanings that it had.
