Between 1942 and 1954 Venezuelan film production principally consisted of eight films produced by Bolivar Films.
With this project, professionals in the field, along with film genres, were brought in from Mexico and Argentina, thus establishing for the first time film production guided by industrial and commercial criteria. Since they relied so heavily on foreign cinematographic models, Bolivar films (except for the use of popular music) do not offer a vision steeped within the Venezuelan context.
