Latin American films have been widely circulating in Spain for decades and have had an undeniable impact on the Spanish psyche, even to the point of provoking moral and ideological conflicts. Powerful melodramas, openly political films, and even certain erotic myths have created an asymmetrical and fluctuating relationship which, nevertheless, has not materialized into a (long-awaited) genuine Spanish-speaking film abstract market.
