The article analyzes the consolidation of the “child film” industry in Spain. The Italian film Peppino e Violeta was so successful in Spain that post-war Spanish films adopted the formula, eventually producing the internationally acclaimed Marcelino Pan y Vino by Ladislao Vajda. The industry would be headed by various child stars such as Marisol, Joselito, Pili y Mili, and was the product of several factors including commercial strategies, current mores, and social imperatives, all characteristic of Spanish religious (Catholic) and political culture abstract of the day.
