La introducción de las nuevas tecnologías en el ámbito artístico ha dado lugar a diversos procesos de cambio, tanto de los paradigmas estéticos como de las propias prácticas artísticas. En este contexto, se produce la emergencia de un nuevo tipo de artista que utiliza los soportes tecnológicos como instrumento básico de su creación, y al mismo tiempo tiene lugar una redefinición de ciertas prácticas profesionales de carácter marcadamente técnico, que anteriormente estaban marginadas del discurso artístico. El objetivo del presente trabajo es ejemplificar todos estos procesos a través del caso concreto de los discjockeys de música techno, una figura sobre la que se ha construido una nueva identidad social de carácter artístico. Los temas a tratar son: a) el desarrollo histórico de la profesión, desde sus orígenes hasta el actual proceso de reconocimiento artístico; b) la emergencia de una nueva ideología que legitima su carácter artístico y la autenticidad de su creación; y c) los aspectos en los que se materializa la nueva profesionalidad artística del disc-jockey.

A process of multiple change in aesthetic paradigms as well as in artistic practice has been initiated by the introduction of new technologies into the artistic world. In this context, a new type of artist has emerged who makes use of new technological recourses as the main tool for the artistic creation. This phenomenon, in turn, brings about a redefinition of the professional practice as predominately technological which was previously excluded from the artistic discourse. The aim of this article is to show this process in the case of the disc-jockey of modern «Techno-music» who has been attributed with a new social identity as artist. First, the historical development of the profession from its beginnings up to the current process of artistic recognition is described. Second, the emergence of a new ideology which legitimates its artistic character, creation and authenticity is examined, and third, the manifestation of this new artistic professionalism.
