Julio Inverso (1963-1999), poeta uruguayo, prácticamente desconocido en el panorama crítico peninsular, es el lado gótico del mundo poético. La poesía en Inverso se une al mundo visionario romántico pero sobre todo al tenebrismo gótico. A través de oscuridad, muertos y demás seres del otro lado que pueblan territorios urbanos el poeta desvela los miedos existenciales, las fobias actuales, el desamor, la soledad, la incongruencia del destino.

Uruguayan Julio Inverso (1963-1999), a poet almost unknown to Spanish literary critics, represents a gothic tendency in poetry. Inverso's writing combines visionary romanticism with the world of gothic shadows. Urban territories inhabited by darkness, by the dead and by other creatures from beyond the grave are used by the poet to reveal existential fears, the phobias of contemporary life, the breakdown of love, loneliness and the incongruity of fate.
