Sobre el "Expediente de la Ley Agraria"

    En la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII la agricultura española es sometida a examen y se proponen soluciones para mejorarla dentro del marco de Ias reformas ilustradas y a la luz de Ias nuevas doctrinas económicas, la fisiocracia y el liberalismo.

    El "Expediente de la Ley Agraria" recoge la documentación emanada a tal efecto y que se refiere a pleitos, recursos, representaciones e instancias de labradores y vecinos, informes de algunos intendentes -destaca el de Olavide-, dictamen del Procurador General del Reino...

    El "Expedient&' pasa después a la Sociedad Económica Matritense a fin de que, examinado por ésta, exponga su parecer.

    Cristaliza así el Informe de la Ley Agraria de Jovellanos miembro de dicha Sociedad y a quien le encargó la redacción del plan que había expuesto.

    During the second half of the eighteenth century, Spanish agriculture was subjected to critical examination, and solutions proposed for improving it within the framework of the reforms of the Enlightenment, in the light of the new economic doctrines of Physiocracy and Liberalism.

    The "Expediente de la Ley Agraria" [Papers on an Agrarian Law] brought together the documents produced for this purpose, and relate to court case records, appeals, statements and petitions of farmers and citizens, reports from some of the "intendentes" [government appointed local financial officers], in particular the report from Olavide, and the decision recorded by the "Procurador General del Reino" [chief of the delegates sent by the provinces to represent them in central government councils].

    The papers were passed to the "Sociedad Económica Matritense" [Madrid Chamber of Commerce] so that it could examine them and express its opinions of them. This was how the "Informe de la Ley Agraria" [Report on an Agrarian Law] by Jovellanos came into being, since he was a member of that organisation and he was given the task of writing up the plan which he had outlined.

    Dans la seconde moitié du XVIIè siècle Iàgriculture espagnole est mise à lépreuve et on propose des solutions pour làméliorer dans le cadre dillustres réformes et en accord avec les nouvelles doctrines économiques, la physiocracie et le libéralisme.

    Le "Dossier de la Loi Agraire" recueille la documentation prévue à cet effet, qui se réfère à des procès, à des recours en justice, à des représentations et à des instances de paysans et de voisins, dossiers de certains intendants -celui de Olavide ressort-, rapport du procureur Général du Royaume. Le "Dossier" passe ensuite à la Sociedad Económica Matritense [Société Économique de Madrid] afin que, une fois examiné par celle-ci, il puisse exposer son opinion.
