Resumen de Natural science teachers' conceptions and practices on integrated implementation of laboratory work and fieldwork

  • Laboratory work and fieldwork are outstanding science education resources. Each of these modes of practical work have their own value but some authors give them an extra value because they believe that they can be used in an integrated way. This article presents the results of a research study conducted with the objective of diagnosing Portuguese natural science teachers' conceptions and practices on integrated implementation of laboratory work and fieldwork. Data were collected by means of a questionnaire that was answered by 308 natural science teachers. Results indicate that although teachers believe that it is possible to integrate laboratory work and fieldwork, they nevertheless were not able to give examples that could illustrate that type of implementation.
