El «bosque» ha sido siempre una realidad catalizadora de mitos, de leyendas y de supersticiones.
Sin embargo, durante el siglo XVIII esta imagen mítica del bosque comenzará a retroceder ante el empuje de una incipiente reflexión filosófica expresada en la obra de Rousseau.
Este artículo recoge lo principal de esa reflexión: su inteligente compendio de política forestal, y su invocación a la prudencia como fórmula moral respetuosa con la naturaleza.

The «wood» has always been a catalyst of myths, legends and superstitions. However, en the 18th century this typical image of the wood would start a backward movement due to the onset of an incipient philosophical reflection expressed in Rousseau’s work. This paper presents the chief points of this reflection: his intelligent course in forest policy, and his invocation for prudence as the nature respectful moral formula
