  • Resumen
    • This study deal with the augures and the auguratus in Roman Hispania. The main goal of this work is primarily to determine the number and features of the accounts on the augures; secondly, it will follow a historical and religious analysis about these priests and the priesthood they exerted. This research has emerged after considering the actual need for a comprehensive revision and reassessment of all the available sources, bearing in mind the enormous confusion that assaults modern bibliography about this issue. The analysis of the evidence, as well as the comparison with the situation of other provinces or that of Rome, has made it possible to study in depth the priesthood's political, social, and religious aspects, which have been very limitedly explored so far.
