  • Resumen
    • An introduction to bite injuries as forensic evidence is presented along with an overview of the steps used by odontologists to manage new cases. Correct recognition of bitemarks by initial investigators, such as emergency physicians, police officers and pathologists, is important so this evidence is not overlooked. A description of how to distinguish marks caused by teeth from other patterns is outlined. A framework to recover the evidence from the victim and suspects adequately is included along with an explanation of current analysis methods and potential conclusions.
