En el año 1540 surgieron los primeros planteamientos para la creación de un colegio de la Compañía de Jesús en Alcalá de Henares, pero fue en 1620 cuando se finalizó la construcción de la Iglesia de éste, y en 1725 cuando se realizó la sacristía aneja a la capilla de las Santas Formas. A lo largo de casi dos siglos, numerosos artistas han intervenido en las obras de este edificio, y un sin fin de dudas han surgido acerca de sus verdaderos autores. Hemos pretendido con este estudio, analizar el período histórico en el que ocurren todos estos acontecimientos y plantear un estado de la cuestión sobre las diferentes opiniones del supuesto tracista de esta iglesia jesuítica
