    El relato de Ahmed es muy revelador de la impregnación de la dimensión imaginaria en la problemática migratoria. Cuando Ahmed evoca su deseo de abandonar Marruecos para ir a Europa, cuenta su historia y la de los suyos, pero también la que habría deseado tener, la que otros han tenido, la que él sueña para su futuro. Ahmed no ignora que las condiciones de vida en Europa para los trabajadores inmigrados son a veces difíciles, el sitúa incluso el exilio en el mismo plano que la prisión o el suicidio, pero, después de la muerte existe a veces el renacimiento que permite tomar su revancha sobre la humillación y la miseria. Este relato ofrece pues la posibilidad de comprender ciertas lógicas inherentes a todo proyecto o itinerario migratorios.

    The story of Ahmed reveals the influence of the imaginary dimension in the migration problem. When Ahmed talks about his desire to leave Morocco and go to Europe, he tells not only the story about himself and his family but also of how he would have liked that story to have been, the one he dreamt about for his future. Ahmed is aware that the living conditions in Europe for immigrant workers are sometimes difficult. He considers exile to be on the same plane as prison or suicide. However, after death, there is sometimes a rebirth which allows one to avenge the humiliation and the poverty suffered. Thus, this story offers the possibility of understanding the inherent reasoning behind any migratory project or itinerary.
