L' évolution des méthodologies dans l' enseignement du français langue étrangère depuis la méthodologie traditionnelle jusqu' à nos jours

    Desde el siglo XIX hasta nuestros días las diferentes metodologías se han sucedido a veces en ruptura con la metodología anterior y otras adaptándose a las nuevas necesidades de la sociedad. Veremos como el objetivo cultural imperante en el siglo XIX se transforma a partir de la segunda guerra mundial para hacer frente al auge del inglés que se impone como lengua de comunicación internacional. El desarrollo del enfoque comunicativo coincide con la aparición de ciertas corrientes de investigación y las nuevas necesidades lingüísticas surgidas en el marco europeo. El estructuralismo insistirá en la competencia lingüística hasta que el funcionalismo imponga la supremacía de la competencia comunicativa. Actualmente asistimos a un periodo de eclecticismo metodológico en el que se propone una �enseñanza cíclica y acumulativa� que fomente el uso de la lengua hablada, atendiendo a todos los aspectos de la comprensión y producción oral y escrita.

    From the 19th century to our days, the different methodologies have followed one another, sometimes breaking with the previous methodology and other times, adapting themselves to the new needs of society. We will see how the cultural objective prevailing in the 19th century in France evolves from the Second World War onwards to face up the boom of English, which imposed itself as the language for international communication.

    In the 20th century, the development of a more practical approach coincides with the appearance of certain linguistic needs that emerged in the European framework.

    Structuralism will insist on linguistic competence up to the moment when Functionalism demands the supremacy of communicative competence. At the present time, there is a period of methodological eclecticism in which it is proposed the use of an � accumulative and cyclic� teaching that encourages the use of the spoken language, paying attention equally to all aspects of comprehension and production, both oral and written.
