  • After recent mergers, fixed-service satellite operators must rationalize their fleets to save costs, and expand capacity to capture new market opportunities, while ensuring service continuity for current missions. Therefore, they are increasingly demanding in-orbit payload flexibility. A telecom payload world leader, Alcatel Alenia Space maintains close relationships with numerous satellite operators, and anticipates their needs. A development program, strongly supported by CNES and ESA, is under way to address the most promising payload solutions for the short and medium term
