How to approach the new social problems? New Groups of the Population in the Sphere of the Social Action in Catalonia [ANNA JOLONCH] The main objective of this article is finding out the most appropriate way of approaching the social problems, in order to make them feasible for the social workers. Our vision of problems has real effects on our world and, consistently, it also affects our ability to be involved in it. Therefore, when we talk about transformations into the new social context, we must direct the analysis towards the experts' world of representations and not only to the data they reflect. Nowadays, telling your opinion about the present social problems implies a whole process closely related to the power interests and to a certain kind of ideological references. Wondering about this values and the vision of the world that provoques this way of formuling problems opens new interrogative perspectives. Depending on the way of looking, the researcher or the professional may start to listen more carefully to what the wordly actors tell them, instead of imposing them interpretations in advance. Therefore, the analytical perspective that guides what the author exposes tends to the necessary problematization of the definition of problems in the field of the social and educative intervention.
