Tanto Solana como Gómez de la Serna estuvieron interesados en los seres inorgánicos, entendidos como elementos que dinamizaban la existencia y expresaban el carácter objetual del ser humano. Siempre perturbadores, también eran para ellos soportes de ideales, sin apenas frontera entre lo animado y lo recreado.

Solana and Gómez de la Serna shared an interest in inanimate beings, and how these objects provoked questions about the physicality of human existence. Not only were they disturbing, these beings constituted ideals, whilst muddying the waters between the living and the inorganic.
