Resumen de Els noticiaris televisius i l'accés a l'agenda pública dels temes de la immigració

  L’objectiu d’aquest article és examinar com les principals cadenes televisives espanyoles intervenen en els processos de selecció i narració dels conflictes relatius a la immigració a través dels noticiaris televisius. També pretén oferir una metodologia específica per al seguiment i l’anàlisi de la informació televisiva sobre la problemàtica de la immigració amb el propòsit de facilitar la continuació d’estudis comparatius entre cadenes i longitudinals en el temps. L’article resumeix els resultats obtinguts de l’anàlisi qualitativa d’una mostra de tres períodes de 2003 en què es comparaven les agendes sobre immigració de les cadenes generalistes espanyoles TVE-1, Antena 3 TV i Tele-5 i la catalana TV3. Els resultats permeten detectar insuficiències importants en la cobertura televisiva de la problemàtica de la immigració, així com diferències notables en l’activitat de cada cadena com a selectora i narradora dels conflictes relatius als nous fluxos migratoris a Espanya.

  The purpose of this article is to examine how the main Spanish television stations intervene in the processes of selecting and narrating immigrationrelated conflicts through the TV news. It also aims to offer a specific methodology for the monitoring and analysis of television information on the issue of immigration and to facilitate the continuation of comparative studies between stations and over time.

  The article summarises the results obtained from a qualitative analysis of a sample of three periods in 2003 when we compared the agendas of the generalinterest Spanish stations TVE-1, Antena 3 TV and Tele-5 and the Catalan station TV3. The results made it possible to detect important insufficiencies in the television coverage of immigration problems, as well as noticeable differences in the activity of each station as a selector and narrator of conflicts relating to the new migration flows to Spain.
