    El viaje de aventuras, con toques fantásticos, tiene en la Literatura árabe un representante bien conocido: Sindbad el marino. En este trabajo se analiza la estructura de los diversos viajes recogidos en Las mil y una noches y las funciones que el héroe desempeña en comparación con los elementos básicos de un viaje iniciático.

    The most significant hero in sail�s storytelling of Arabic Literature is Sindbad, the sailor. This article undertakes a comparative analysis of the structure of all travels included in Thousand and one nights, paying attention to the functions the hero represents in front of basic elements of an initial travel.
