    Durante el sigloXVIII la ciudad de Reus se convirtió en la segunda población de Catalu~ya; su proximidad con el puerto de Salou le permitia disponer de materiales de primera calidad y cabe señalar, también, que el irea de influencia de Reus abarcaba desde las comarcas de Tarragona hasta las tierras del Ebro y las comarcas de Urgell, les Garrigues y la Segarra. La riqueza artesanal de la ciudad justificó la presencia estable de la saga de 10s organeros Anton i Josep Casas. Los autores de este interesante trabajo trazan el perfil biográfi1:o y laboral de Josep Casas i Soler a través del post mortem inventario de sus bienes del año 1802. (Josep Maria Gregori)

    In the eighteenth century, the city of Reus established itself as the second most important city in Catalonia. Its closeness to the port of Salou allowed access to high-quality priniary materials; and - in addition - its sphere of influence extended hom the neighbouring cclunties of Tarragona, to the lands of the river Ebro in the south, and the counties of Urgell, les Garrigues and la Segarra in the west. Reus was rich in the tradition of craftsman!,hip in general, and it is this which accounts for the 'dynastyl of the organ-makers Anton and Josep Casas. The writers of this interesting article trace the biographical and professional profile of Josep Casas i Soler by reference to the post mortem inventory of his goods fi om the year 1802.
