Resumen de Aportes al diálogo entre historia y ciencia política: una contribución desde la experiencia investigativa en el CINEP

En este trabajo quisiera hacer una mirada retrospectiva de algunos de los trabajos del CINEP y de los míos propios, relacionados con la historia política durante los treinta años en que he estado vinculado a él. Igualmente, quiero tratar de aclararme a mí y al lector hasta qué punto la mayor parte de mis propios trabajos pueden inscribirse en la categoría de historia política, ya que yo mismo no tengo muy claramente definida mi identidad profesional, aunque esta indefinición no significa para mí ningún motivo de preocupación. Entre otras cosas, porque estudié tanto Ciencia Política como Historia de América Latina, y nunca me he preocupado mucho por las fronteras que algunos profesionales han construido entre las ciencias sociales. Es más, considero que la combinación de los dos enfoques, diacrónico y sincrónico, han significado un enorme enriquecimiento de mis perspectivas de análisis. Lo mismo que la combinación entre el acercamiento concreto a la realidad histórica de la actividad política colombiana y la lectura desde modelos teóricos, normalmente abstraídos de otras experiencias históricas.

In this article I would like to take a retrospective look at some of the CINEP studies and some of my own work relating to political history during the thirty years in which I have been associated with the institition. I also want to try to clarify for myself and for the reader to what extent most of my own work can be inscribed in the category of political history, since I myself have not very clearly defined my professional identity, although this indefinition is no cause of concern for me, among other things, because I have studied both Political Science and Latin American History and have never worried much about the borderlines that some professionals have drawn between the social sciences. Furthermore, I believe that the combination of the two focuses, diachronic and synchronic, have enriched my analytical perspectives enormously. The same applies to the combination of the concrete approach to the historical reality of Colombian political activity and a reading of it from the viewpoint of theoretical models, usually abstracted from other historical experiences.
