  • English

There is a queer parallelism berween the andalusian composers Falla and Turina. A short biography of Falla from his birth until his dealth (1876-1946).

A brief description of the thoroughgly spanish «género chico» (a kind of musical comedy of that time) since it was created around 1868 until 1902 when Falla made an approach to it by composing the «saínete» (farce) «Los amores de la Inés» and the zarzuela (spanish vaudeville with alternating music and dialogue) «Limosna de amor» pioneering works of the production which Falla accomplished until he got a world reputation.

Afterwards a brief biography of Turina (1882-1949) whom also made an approach to the said «género chico» by composing «Fea y con gracia» (ugly but witty) and «La mujer del héroe» (the hero's wife) we have inherited from Turina a large simphonic work endowed with a deep andalusian print as well as with a modern and refined technique.
