    El artículo hace un análisis de Nápoles, describiendo su situación geográfica y el papel desarrollado a través de la historia. Se establece la importancia de su situación en el mediterráneo y su atractivo para la gente del norte de Europa, especialmente escritores que visitan el país atraídos por el clima, paisaje y la fascinación del Sur.

    The article makes an analysis of Naples describing its geografical situation and the role played through History. Starts with the study of its greek origins, the presence of the conquest of the city and afterwards refering to the establishment of a serie of important villas built by the emperors and other dignataries of the Empire around Naples. The evolution of the historical process continues with a reference to the dynasties of Anjou and the House of Aragon with the special mention to the Kingdoms of Charles the III rd and Joseph Napoleon Bounaparte who were kings of Naples before they rule Spain.

    The said article underlines the importance of Spain on account of its mediterranean situation and its atraction for the men of northern Europe especially writers who visit that country atracted by the climate landscape and bewitohement of the south. A transcription is given of the judgments of Ibsen, De Brosses, Goethe, Nietzsche, Hipólito Taine, Guido Piovene, Juan Valera, Unamuno, Axel Munthe. Each one of these references is a small anthology of thoughts on the landscape and importance of the pagan world in this region of Campania. The article ends with the words of the writer Mikes on the «italomania» and the way to achive it going on with the travels to Italy.
