    El texto, a juzgar por las traducciones sorprendentemente discordantes, ofrece algunas dificultades de interpretación en algunos puntos1 . El objeto del presente artículo es discutir algunas cuestiones del texto desde el punto de vista sintáctico, léxico y estilístico, con la intención de clarificar algunos aspectos del mismo. Se propone la correspondiente traducción y se confrontan algunas traducciones ya existentes.

    This short passage regarding the nature of paideia’s art, if it may be judged from the different existing translations, offers some points of difficult interpretation. The aim of this article is to discuss some issues of the text, from syntactical, lexical and stylistic points of view in order to contribute to clarify its meaning. Finally, a new translation is given and a sample of different translations offered.
