  Los autores de este trabajo ofrecen una perspectiva general de la pervivencia de las comedias de Plauto en el teatro europeo, sobre la que todavía no existe un estudio de conjunto convincente y exhaustivo; para su análisis señalan dos etapas claramente diferenciadas, correspondientes a la Edad Media y al Renacimiento. Con posterioridad al teatro renacentista centran su atención en el teatro español, extendiéndose hasta tiempos de Lope de Vega.

  The authors of this research show a general perspective of Plauto’s comedies within European theatre, since nowadays there is still no convincing and comprehensive overall survey on this. In order to carry out the analysis, they indicate two stages clearly differentiated;

  the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Subsequent to Renaissance theatre, they focus on Spanish theatre, reaching Lope de Vega's times.
