    La anestesia tópica, es la técnica de elección para la cirugía de la catarata mediante facoemulsificacion, no obstante en este artículo se plantea la conveniencia de recurrir en ocasiones a otros tipos de anestesia, valorando el riesgo y beneficio, defendiendo que esta alternativa es técnicamente aceptable y éticamente correcta.

    External anaesthesia, is the technical choice for cataract surgery through Phaco, however, this article raises the cuestion of the convenience of resorting to other types of anaesthesia on certain times, assessing the risk and advantage, defending that this alternative is technically acceptable and ethically right.
