Uveítis asociada a artritis crónica juvenil sistémica

    Objetivo/Método: Se presenta un caso clínico de un paciente con artritis crónica juvenil (ACJ) de instauración sistémica asociada a uveítis anterior bilateral, lo cual suele ser infrecuente. Posteriormente presenta queratopatía en banda y cataratas. En las últimas revisiones se observa una retinosis pigmentaria, confirmada electrorretinográficamente. A partir de lo anteriormente expuesto se hace una revisión de la enfermedad y de sus complicaciones oculares.

    Discusión: El inicio sistémico de la ACJ supone un 20% de los casos. La uveítis anterior en este subgrupo es muy rara. Debido a que el inicio de la inflamación ocular en la ACJ es asintomático, resulta muy importante realizar un control rutinario y diagnóstico precoz, para así evitar complicaciones irreversibles para la funcionalidad ocular.

    Purpose/Methods: Description of a clinical case of a patient with Juvenile Chronic Artitis (JCA) with systemic onset associated to an anterior bilateral uveitis, which is not frequent. The patient later showed band keratopathy and cataracts. During the last two revisions, retinitis pigmentosa was observed and confirmed with the electroretinograph. After these observations, revision of the disease and its possible complications was performed.

    Discussion: The systemic onset of JCA happens in 20% of the cases. Anterior uveitis happens rarely in this sub-group. Due to the asymptomatic onset of ocular inflammation in JCA, it is important to perform routine controls and early diagnosis to avoid irreversible complications of the ocular function.
