  • Resumen
    • The taxonomic relationships between the taxa of Vida L. section Hypechusa (Alef.) Asch. & Graebner have been studied using phenetic techniques. Morphological data were gathered from 464 herbarium specimens representing the taxa of the section. Specimens were scored for 43 vegetative, 84 inflorescence, 23 legume and 24 seed characters. The data were analysed using cluster analysis and ordination techniques. The analysis results are considered in conjunction with a literature review of the taxonomic history, cytology, phytogeography, and ecology of the taxa involved. A classification is proposed in which the eighteen taxa are divided into two series, Hyrcanicae B. Fedtsch. ex Radzhi and Hypechusa. This classification is discussed in relation to previous placements of Hypechusa within the Vicieae. A key to the two series, and 18 species and subspecific taxa is provided.
