Carex phyllostachys is a rare species of the European Flora; the new locality in the monts Timfi area is the third report of this Carex in Greece; inflorescence and geographical repartition exhibit some noteworthy features; description, ecology and chorology are given and (or) improved; a brief overview of the Carex of the Greek flora is made.
