In this article my objective is to approach and delve more deeply into the political history of Michoacan, dealing in particular with the character of the electoral process during the period specified above. Attention is focused on two fundamental elements present in the regional environment: the framework of regional political power networks--with all of the corporate force of the state party¿ and the political praxis of the militant opposition, from both the left and the right, in an infertile field because of lack of organization within the civil society.
