En este texto se analizan Ias condiciones que propiciaron Ias rebeliones indígenas entre 1841 y 1846 en el centro-oriente del actual estado de Guerrero. Se cuestiona la idea de que los indios actuaban movidos por improntas como el federalismo o, incluso, que llegaron a plantear una propuesta alternativa de nación.
his paper analyses the context surrounding the indigenous rebellions in the centre-east of the modern day state of Guerrero, and examines their possible causes. It questions the idea that the indigenous villagers acted according to abstract concepts such as federalism, or even that they reached the extreme of proposing an alternative definition of nation-state.
