    La hermenéutica brinda diferentes tipos de acercamiento a una obra musical. Anamnesis informa, por medio de una nota de programa, acerca de la posible intención que tuvo la compositora al momento de crear. Aunque el escucha no tenga acceso a la nota, puede obtener una lectura de referencia propia. De esta manera, el programa, junto con cualquier indicación visual o textual en la partitura, a pesar de ser importantes, no son imprescindibles para obtener una percepción estética de la obra. Para elaborar un acercamiento hermenéutico se tendrán que considerar los tres factores que intervienen en el acto interpretativo (autor, obra e intérprete), lo que forzosamente nos adentrará en el problema de la intencionalidad. Al considerar los factores que determinan la intención tanto de la obra como del autor, veremos qué tanto convergen o divergen entre sí. El elemento unificador en esta evaluación será el tercer factor; esto es, la intención del que realiza la interpretación.

    Hermeneutics can provide a perspective to validate different approaches to a musical work. Through a program note, Anamnesis lets us infer the composer's intention during the process of creation. However, with or without it, the listener would obtain a different perspective, in the light of his or her own perception. The resultant interpretation can be either similar or opposite in relation to the programmatic text. One obtains an adequate aesthetic perception of the music even without the program notes. To attain a hermeneutic approach to the work, we have to consider the three parts present in the interpretative process (author, work and interpreter). This will introduce us to the problem of intentionality. Looking at the aspects that determine the author's and the work's intentions, we can see how much they converge or diverge in themselves. The unifying element in the evaluation will be the third factor: the intention of whomever carries out the interpretation.
