Resumen de El Colegio de Minería: una institución ilustrada en el siglo XVIII novohispano

El Colegio de Minería fue una institución inmersa en los procesos generales y cambios políticos en la historia de México. Su fundación creó un espacio donde convivían dos mundos amalgamados: el primero generado por las condiciones específicas internas donde una comunidad institucional construyó una atmósfera singular por medio de su cotidianidad y vida privada, y el segundo por los actores sociales que integraban el Colegio y que participaron de una manera significativa en distintos niveles de las estructuras sociales novohispanas. Cada uno de ellos contribuyó, en cierta medida, a la conformación y dinámica de la sociedad mexicana. El objetivo es analizar a una institución que representó el cambio y la modernidad en nuestro país.

El Colegio de Minería was an institution deeply involved in the general processes and political changes of the history of Mexico. Its foundation created a space where two mixed elements socialized. The first element was encouraged to participate in this association by the internal conditions that the institutional community created with a singular atmosphere through its everyday and private life. The second element, the social actors of the association, participated in a meaningful way in the different levels of the Neohispanic social structures. Both groups contributed in certain way to the structure and dynamics of Mexican society. The objective of this article is to analyze an institution that represented change and modernity in our country.
