Resumen de Las fuentes como elementos intertextuales: diálogo entre poetas anglonorteamericanos y españoles

Carmen Pérez Romero

  • In this paper I try to emphasize the importance of the literary sources from the point of view of intertextuality, considering influence as the collaboration between poets -admired and admirer- for the latter to broaden his poetical cosmovision: a change in the treatment of themes, motives, etc., and the evolution of his style in general. I outline a practical method for the reader to discover the echoes of one writer on another belonging to a different culture. To exemplify my theory I include a few items of the similarities between Shakespeare, Blake, etc. and Juan Ramón Jiménez on one side; and between Pedro Salina' s theatre and J. B. Priestley's and T. S. Eliot's on the other side.
