    La propuesta de este artículo es reunir y comentar las menciones de las fuentes de época antigua y medieval sobre Lancia, y también las notiicas de los autores de los siglos XVI al XIX, destacando como en los siglos XVI y XVII las referenias sobre Lancia se basan en leyendas y tradiciones míticas, y como consecuencia, se reduce la información útil sobre el yacimiento, hasta el punto de desconocerse con precisión su localización exacta. Esta circunstancia, en absoluto inintencionada, es una de las claves explicativas del escaso conocimiento actual sobre este yacimiento.

    The purpose of this paper was to collect and explain the references to Lancia from Antiquity and Middle Age sources, as well as the news of the 16th to 19th -century authors. We have outlined the fact that in the 16th and 17th centuries the references to Lancia were based on legends an mythical traditions and, as a consequence of it, the reliable information about the site is so reduced that even its exact location remains unknown. The circunstance -hardly disinterested- is one of the keys that accounts for the poor knowledge of this site.
