Resumen de Pobresa i microcrèdits

Leveraging the advent of the 21st Century, a few years ago the United Nations launched the Millennium Development Goals. The ensemble of measures provided for seeks to drive policies in the fight against poverty, one of the main global problems in our planet. On the basis of these elements, the article first recaps on the current situation of the main poverty indexes, and their most recent evolution. Understanding that it is essential to strive to palliate and correct the aftermath of poverty, the author goes on to develop the idea that any society that wants to be humane and just must fight to eradicate the causes of poverty, which are often multiple and complex. This fight must contribute to creating the conditions for the poor countries to have the chance to earn a living by and for themselves: in this context, microcredits may be a very good tool for the eradication of poverty

Aprofitant l'entrada del segle XXI, les Nacions Unides varen llancar fa pocs anys el programa Objectius per al Desenvolupament en el Nou Millenni. El conjunt de mesures que s'hi consideren intenten orientar les politiques de lluita contra la pobresa, un dels principals problemes globals al nostre planeta. Partint d'aquests elements, l'article repassa en primer lloc la situació actual dels principals índexs de pobresa, i la seva evolució més recent. Entenent que és essencial intentar palliar i corregir les seqüeles de la pobresa, l'autor desenvolupa a continuació la idea que una societat que vulgui ser humana i justa ha de lluitar per eliminar-ne les causes, sovint múltiples i complexes. Aquesta lluita ha de contribuir a crear les condicions perquè els països pobres tinguin l'oportunitat de guanyar-se la vida pel seu compte: els microcrèdits poden ser, en aquest context, una molt bona eina per a l'eradicació de la pobresa.
