L'archéologie punique en Tunisie constitue un très vaste champ de recherche: les sites sont nombreux et divers, qu'il s'agisse de fondations phéniciennes ou de localités autochtones qui, profitant des apports introduits par les Phéniciens et diffusés par Carthage, s'intégrèrent au monde punique. Les cités numides elles-mêmes, séduites par les avantages d'une culture dynamique et riche de potentialités, ne tardèrent pas à l'adopter, non sans l'adapter aux exigences de leur propre sensibilité.

Punic archaeology in Tunisia represents a very wide field for research: the sites are numerous and diverse, whether they appear to be Phoenician foundations or native villages, which, taking advantage of the contributions brought in by the Phoenicians and diffused by Carthage, became part of the Punic world. Even Numid cities, tempted by the advantages of a dynamic and efficient civilization, adopted it before long, not without adapting it to their own spirit.
