Aunque la epigrafía funeraria romana presenta fórmulas repetitivas no faltan ejemplos que, o bien por su mayor amplitud textual o por su mayor originalidad, reflejan un "ambiente" pleno de vitalidad y sentimientos, especialmente debido al rechazo a la muerte cuando, por temprana, es menos aceptada aún. A través de la lectura de tales epígrafes podemos acercamos a una época y a una mentalidad determinada sirviéndonos para ello de fuentes directas.

Even though the Roman funeral epigraphic shows repetitive formulae, they do not lack examples which, either because of their bigger textual width or because of their greater originality, reflect a full "atmosphere" of vitality and feelings, especially due to the rejection of death, when, because of its earliness, it is even les s accepted. Through the lecture of such epigraphies, we can come closer to a certain mentality and time, using for this the direct sources.
