Resumen de Mondialisation, défis économiques et régionalisation en Afrique

  There is no doubt that globalization is one ofthe main characteristics of our time. Nobody can ignore or escape it. For sorne, the process constitutes the path to shared well-being at the planetary level, while for others it poses a range of challenges, social, political and economic. For Africa these challenges are enormous and they will be heavily mortgaging its future. They include : the integration of the African continent into the world market system and the consequent need to be competitive; the redefinition ofthe role ofthe state, the participation of civil society, the formulation of a new development paradigm which, going beyond the cumulative imbalance that characterizes the neoliberal system, combats against the marginalization of the continent and of individuals. The quest for autonomous policies for national and subregional development, particularly through regional dynamics and social movements, is also a serious challenge. Nevertheless, the bell has sounded for African renaissance. More than ever before, Africans, faced as they are with the current upheavals, must be courageous and liberate themselves so they can search for their own paths and alternatives for another kind of globalization.

  Certes, la mondialisation est une des caractéristiques majeures de notre temps.

  Personne ne peut l'ignorer ni s'y soustraire. Pour certains, ce processus représente la voie d'un bonheur partagé a l'échelle planétaire, tandis que pour d 'autres, il renvoie a une gamme variée de défis, allant du social au politique en passant par le champ économique. Pour ce qui conceme l' Afrique, ces défis sont immenses et hypothequent lourdement !'avenir du continent. Entre autres ch oses, il convient de rappeler : l' intégration du continent africain au systeme de marché mondial et l' exigence de compétitivité qui s' en suit, la redéfinition du role de l'État, la participation de la société civile, l'élaboration d'un nouveau paradigme de développement qui, transcendant l'optique d'asymétrie cumulative qui caractérise le systeme néolibéral, lutte contre la marginalisation du continent et des individus. La quete de politiques autonomes de développement national et sous-régional, notamment au travers des dynamiques régionales et des mouvements sociaux, représente aussi un défi important. Toutefois, l'heure de la renaissance a sonné pour 1' Afrique. Plus que jamais, face aux bouleversements en cours, le peuple africain doit prendre courageusement la liberté de rechercher des voies et des altematives pour une autre mondialisation.
