Resumen de Asociarse y exportar: el asociacionismo agrario en Canarias 1940-2000

  Este artículo estudia el comportamiento de las formas asociativas agrarias y ganaderas del Archipiélago Canario desde los años que abarca el periodo franquista hasta los nuevos modelos de cooperación que surgirán tras el advenimiento de la democracia y la incorporación de la agricultura española a la política agrícola de la Unión Europea. La definición de un perfil de gestión colectiva basado en la comercialización de los productos agrarios fue el rasgo que identificó a la agricultura de exportación canaria. Tras una primera etapa de adaptación a la normativa franquista, las cooperativas diseñaron sus estrategias de comercialización hacia el mercado nacional. Con una estructura versátil, no tuvieron ningún problema en incorporarse a las nuevos modelos asociativos que exigían la rápida transformación de la agricultura y la ganadería a unos mercados más competitivos y capitalizados. Finalmente, el éxito de la implantación de un modelo de gestión colectiva mixta, como las sociedades agrarias de transformación, demuestra la dinámica del sector agrario en Canarias.

  This article studies the behavior of the agrarian associative forms and cattle raisers of the islands canaries since the years that covers the franco’s regime period, to the new models of cooperation that will arise after the arrival of the democracy and the incorporation of the Spanish agriculture to the agricultural politics of the European Union. The definition of a profile of collective management based on the commercialization of the agrarian products was the characteristic that identified to the canary export agriculture. After a first phase of adaptation to the franco’s regime regulation, the cooperative they designed their strategies of commercialization toward the national market. With a versatile structure, they had no problem in being incorporated to the new associative models that required the fast transformation of the agriculture and the stockbreeding to some more competitive markets and capitalized. Finally, the success of the establishment of a model of mixed collective management as the agrarian companies of transformation, shows the dynamics of the agrarian sector in Canaries.
