Resumen de Disquisiciones sobre la técnica y la tecnología: en busca de su fundamentación

  El propósito de este artí culo es presentar un marco conceptual que pueda orientar la posible comprensión del desarrollo de la problemática de la técnica y la tecnologí a a lo largo del tiempo hasta desembocar en los tiempos contemporáneos. Para cumplir con esta labor se estudiaron textos representativos de importantes pensadores acerca de esta temática, todos ellos reconocidos estudiosos del campo de la filosofí a de la ciencia y de la tecnologí a. El procedimiento metodológico consistió en leer comprensivamente sus textos fundamentales y exponer, desde la perspectiva del autor, los planteamientos centrales de este conjunto de intelectuales sobre la problemática en cuestión. Por tanto, lo que se presenta aquí es una interpretación, es decir, una sí ntesis comprensiva que no tiene visos de ser única ni acabada. Acometer el estudio del asunto propuesto no puede realizarse sin una referencia explí cita al conocimiento científico, máxime si actualmente la ciencia y la tecnología suelen entenderse como dos fenómenos tan estrechamente ligados que, incluso, se tiene la tendencia a reducir uno al otro y hasta dar prioridad a la tecnología. Esta vinculación es, desde luego, un hecho característico de nuestra época, pero no por ello podemos de manera ligera decir que una y otra son ya lo mismo o decir que ambas se interrelacionan, sin aclarar esta interrelación, es más, sin aclarar sus diferencias. Por otro lado, ocurre lo mismo con la técnica y con la tecnología, ¿qué conexiones tienen?, ¿cuáles son sus diferencias? Este es el asunto que abordo en este artículo sin pretender, como antes lo expresé, que lo dicho sea algo definitivo, más bien debe mirarse como una contribución a la búsqueda de lo propuesto, abierta, desde luego, a la discusión y al debate lúcido y sensato.

  The aim of this article is to present a conceptual framework which could possibly orient the comprehension of the technique and technology issue throughout time up to the present. In order to reach our goal, many texts of representative authors were read, including those of well-recognized scholars on technology and philosophy of science. The methodological procedure consisted on the comprehensive reading of fundamental texts of these authors referring to our topic and then present an exposition of their management of the problem according to my understanding. Therefore, what is presented here is just an interpretation, a comprehensive synthesis without any pretension of being the last word in the matter. Undertaking the study of this issue requires an explicit reference to scientific knowledge, particularly now that science and technology are considered phenomena so closely linked that there is the tendency to embody one into the other and even to give priority to technology. This linkage is of course a characteristic of our times, but in any way we can say that one and the other are the same, or say that both are interrelated without defining what this interrelation is, or even more, without clarifying their differences. On the other hand, the same happens with technique and technology. What are their relationships? Which are their differences? This is the issue I handle with in this article, and as I said before, I do it without any pretensions, without considering that my claims are definitive.
